How you make a skin in StyleSkin
is simple...
You
design your template first. StyleSkin's
built in template editor does this quickly and easily, or
you can use another program and import the template as a
graphic. Either way creating the template is a simple job
of drawing shapes which define the different areas of
your skin. The default template looks like:

You
then create a texture for your skin. You can choose from the extensive range of
textures and endless variations StyleSkin has to offer, or you
can import an image to use as your texture. With the
built in textures StyleSkin can create a texture that is
unique across your skin. This adds detail and interest to your skin, and
avoids drab
tiled patterns. For this skin we chose the Petri Dish texture:

Now
you decide on your color and other skin properties.
You can choose your colors, how rounded
it appears etc. For this skin we chose to have green gel buttons on a
grey background. We also chose to vary the color of the skin with the
texture, giving us the following skin:

We can
even save our skin settings, our texture and our template!
Then, when we want another skin in that style we need
only open up the files we want and we're off again.
A Versatile,
Complete Skinning Package
There are three facets to creating a skin in
StyleSkin, your template, your texture and your rendered graphics. StyleSkin
combines it's graphics rendering engine with a versatile template editor, and an
extensive texture generator. This means you can do all your design work right in
StyleSkin, creating templates, textures and rendering the final results! Because
you can save your template and effects, making a change at a
later date is easy. No more do you have to try and remember the long chain of
manipulations you had to do to create your graphics. Nor do you have to take the
time to do them either, simply open up your template and effect settings and
you're right where you left off. Make any changes that you wish and click
"Render Complete Skin" and you've produced a new fully rendered skin!
StyleSkin allows you to adjust every aspect of your skin,
