My Own Honda Shadow T-Shirt! |
Make your own Shadow T-Shirt!
- I created the shirt to the left using the common
iron-on transfers for ink-jet printers. I have had a number of requests for
the design, which you can now find below. The image has been designed for
use on white backed transfer packs. The transfer paper I used was Celcast's
"Black T-Shirt" iron-on transfers. These "fun size"
transfer packs come with 3 sets of two films. The first layer is a
transparent film on a backing paper. You print the film using your ink-jet
printer. You then iron this layer to the second layer, which is essentially
a very thin white layer of fabric. You then cut out the image and iron it to
your shirt. This is the same as the more common iron-ons, but it has the
extra white layer, which means you can use a colored t-shirt (normally you
must use white).
Celcast's product page for the "Black T-Shirt"
transfer paper is located
here. Please note that while the product is called black t-shirt transfer,
it is simply a white backed iron-on and is suitable for any color of shirt.
Just print out the image onto the film, iron it onto the
white film and cut just inside the black border, so that no white is showing.
The black border has been cropped to allow you to follow the contour easily with
a pair of scissors. This gives a good result and a professional looking shirt.
I have now designed and uploaded a new design which is
compatible with standard iron-on transfers for light material! You can download
the new design below on the right. This design suits the "White
T-Shirt" transfer film which is much more common than the black t-shirt
transfers. The white t-shirt transfer film is a single layer clear film which is
printed on with your ink-jet printer and then ironed onto your white (or light
colored) fabric. The white t-shirt design below contains a separate graphic
(larger than the black t-shirt design so you can scale it to suit you) for the
front of the t-shirt. Have Fun!
