| NEW BUILD OF
PIM SAVER! - (5th
August 1999) |
PIM Saver hit a bug
with the "Calendar - This Month Only"
Module (not the "Calendar - This
Week On" Module). This resulted in
the module not displaying the month, but
showing a blank screen instead. This bug,
which was related to the first day of the
month landing on the Sunday (no, not a Y2K
issue... sheesh, will you people give it
up). This bug has been fixed and a new
build uploaded. Site link and information
has also been updated in the program.

| NEW BUILD OF
S&A MANAGER! - (29rd
April 1999) |
Build 5 includes a
bugfix for the path/file access error
some people were getting. This was caused
by running the program after initial
setup run, with no soundscapes in it own
SND directory.

| Feedback Now
Online!! - (4th
December 1998) |
Datalink Software
Central now has a Feedback form! In order
to make it easier for web browsers to
send their feedback I have written up a
feedback form which is fast, easy, and (optionally)
anonymous.
I encourage web browsers to
even just fill out the short quesionaire
(only four simple questions). This would
provide valuable information on what
areas we are doing okay in and what areas
needed more attention. You can access the
Feedback form from the Datalink Index, or
just click here.

| PIM Saver
New Version! - (27th/
29th October 1998) |
The following
changes are in direct response to an
email I received from Jarom Olson. Thanks
Jarom!
The anniversaries
were dealt with as occuring in the year
they were listed, or the next year if the
month was before the current month.
Normally this would be the current year.
Instead, some people (i.e. Jarom) list
the anniversary under the year of the
original event (i.e. the year of birth,
marraige etc.) as a form of keeping
record of these details. I have changed
he code to allow this method of record
keeping, instead I use the current year (or
next year). 98/10/29 - This now includes
both the Calendar modules as well.
2nd Timezones were
not set correctly at all ! I had actually
changed this code while doing some work
on a previous version (I can't even
remember when) so it did not even have a
chance to work. Sorry about that all, I
am surprised someone didn't bring it to
my attention before.
In the 2nd
Appointment Module, the next appointment
would tend to be calculated starting from
the next day. This would occur even if
there were further appointments past the
next appointment in the current day.
I have not thoroughly tested
the changes, if you see any errors please
email me and I will get straight onto it!

| NEW SITE
DESIGN! - (22nd
October 1998) |
Well, you can see
what I have been doing for the past two
weeks! As you have most probably noticed
by now, the site has had a complete
redesign! Could two sites be more
different???
The site now pushes the
limit of what is possible with HTML today.
I'm not saying it uses oodles of Java,
but rather that it should look good in
the latest browsers (I have tested it in
MS IE 4.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.0),
while downloading in record time (as
opposed to my old design which took a
significant amount of time to download,
and was not as well presented in Netscape).
I have not seen the methods
I have used here used anywhere else,
central to the design is the
fragmentation of the component parts of
the images. This allows both the
flexibility of self adjusting images, but
also faster download time. This means
that the menu to the left has been
compiled, on screen, out of many slivers
of images, but comprising of only a few
component parts, which are then meshed to
appear as one image. I managed this by
using the end caps and dividers as
images, while the "middle" is a
cell tile. This works vertically for the
Menu and Title Boxes, and horizontally
for the dividers and link boxes.
Due to the advances made in
HTML, this site may look somewhat lacking
in older browsers... in IE3 the site will
look as it has been designed with the
exception of the links which are all dark
green (I can only specify global color
for links in this version of HTML). You
should upgrade. This site is best viewed
in True Color (or High Color, if you must).

| MELODY
WIZARD - NEW BUILD! - (22nd
October 1998) |
Melody Wizard
incorrectly saved files with Soundlet
Count tables larger than 10 (the value
was written in decimal, not in hex as it
should have been). Thanks go to Richard
Preuss for spotting the problem!
I also fixed the spacing
error in the "Delete Current Melody"
dialog. Appologies go to Olivier Philipp,
as he pointed this out to me some time
ago, but I only just relaised that I had
not addressed the issue.
