—————— Custom SoundScapes

I am willing to program anyone’s ideas into a Custom SoundScape, though you may wish to program your own using our Melody Wizard Software. However I am not a musical (nor a programming) genius. Therefore you have to do some of the work yourself. Following is a list of the pre-requisites you must supply in order to get your Custom SoundScape. I think you will find they are very reasonable:

Tell me your name.

Provide me with a Musical Score of your tune/s. This can be the traditional score, a hand-drawn facsimile (even drawn in MS Paint, ideally as a Windows Metafile), or even an alpha-numeric representation. One example of a alpha-numeric representation is "Pitch(/Pause), Length;", such that you would get something like: 1,1/2; 3,1; P,1/4; 5,1/4 etc.. Do NOT forget to include the pauses. Tell me if 1 is the highest or lowest pitch. You can use P or the number 0 for pauses. Avoid ABC for pitch as many songs cross over the range, i.e. G->E->F->A->B. This makes it confusing.

Tell me which tunes are supposed to play when
(e.g. Tune 1-> Alarm; Tune 2 ->Appointments).

Acknowledge I have to cope with a fixed format. That you have a maximum total of about 30-40 notes, which includes pauses.

Tell me what kind of scheme you want, a full featured one, or one that favours the tune you sent me.

Allow me to post the resulting SoundScape here if I deem it worthy.

I will accept no email that has virus capable components contained within it. This means attached images are okay, but MS Word documents are not.

Remember, before you can access them they must be added to your timexdl.dat file. The format is relatively obvious, just open it up with a text file. Alternatively, you can download my SoundScape and WristApp Manager. This makes it easy to add and remove SoundScapes (and WristApps) to your datalink software.

Please note that the sound format is limited in capability. This means that the notes I can play, their length and the length of the file are dictated to me. The format is flexible, which means I can dedicate a lot of the space to one melody, or I can have more, smaller melodies. melody strings can also be repeated, attached together, etc... I have read that the file can be quite large but have personally experienced problems after it gets larger than 68 bytes (really 64, minus header).

It would help if you tell me how you want your SoundScape to go, whether you want all the memory dedicated to one melody, or you want a fully featured Scheme.
