When I insert the CD I get an error or messagebox, but the menu has not started yet. This can occur if you have not placed the software in the same directory as speficied in the AUTORUN.INF file. Check that the AUTORUN.INF file accurately represents the path to the program. If you have changed the INF file, make sure you have followed the syntax of the original file exactly.
The format for the INF file is as follows:
[autorun] open=DirectoryOnCD\AutorunProgram.exe icon=DirectoryOnCD\WindowsIcon.ico
Note that there is no leading path information (i.e. no drive letter, colon or backslash).
Another thing to be careful of is that you copy the software to the CD. In some "drag and drop" CDR software available today (where you simply drag the files over to the CD) it is easy to accidentally create a shortcut to the program instead. To be sure you copy the software, right-click when you drag, this way you can click "Copy" on the resulting menu when you drop it.
