How can I tell which files are which, I cannot see file extensions?

By default in MS Windows, Windows Explorer hides the file extensions of known file types. This is a terrible feature which should be turned off! This can lead you to having, say, three files named simply "autorun", when in fact they are named "autorun.inf", "autorun.ini", and "autorun.ico". Except its not showing you the file extensions, you have to figure out which is which by the descriptions. We advise everyone seeking technical support to turn off this extension hiding, in fact we advise everyone with MS Windows to turn this off.

To turn this off, simply go into Windows Explorer, click on View > Folder Options > View (tab) and make sure the "Hide file extensions for known file types" is UNchecked. Note that this may vary slightly, depending on what version of MS Windows you are running.
