FastMenu 2.0 is now OUT! With a range of new features FastMenu 2.0 is now complete with its own Setup Wizard and upgraded Menu Editor. It now supports animated title graphics and an expiry feature! The Beta for FastMenu Version 2.0 has now been released! This new version will see the addition of a number of new elements into FastMenu, and our autorun software in general! A number of new features have been added to AutoPage!

• You can now choose where you would like the menu to appear on screen. You can select the center or any of the four corners.

• The menu editor/ creator has been redesigned to allow easier, faster menu creation and editing.

• Demo mode, where the screens were automatically cycled has now been limited. This demo only occurs if the User has not pushed a button, minimising any disruption to the launched command.

• Registration Code has now been masked. To protect Users from having their registration code used by someone else the registration code is now masked in the INI.

Both AUTOptions have had a major upgrade, with new features and an even easier interface to program in. Among the plethora of changes are such items as:

• Enhanced Button Setting and moving in programmer.
• Completely rewritten button properties module in programmer. With scrollable image list for setting button images (AUTOption Graphic Only).
• All New Properties Dialog for Setting button properties.
• Accessory Text, a separate Formattable Text area
• Button Description - provide further information on your buttons, then when the User positions the mouse over a button the accessory text changes to display the button description you entered.
• More accurate dialog positioning, and faster load-up.
• Fully redone Help Files.
• Commandline Arguments for any and all buttons.
• Buttons can be individually set to exit if the User clicks them.

You can now implement a full screen background IN AutoPage by including a Windows Metafile! Just create your metafile (in PowerPoint or another program capable of creating and saving a Windows Metafile), name it "back.wmf" and include it with your program. The the program loads it will display the metafile behind it, covering the entire screen.

FastMenu's INI Programmer has been upgraded to allow easier opening of sub-menu INIs. This has involved adding a "Open" button to allow the User to open any INI while in the INI programmer (rather than dragging and dropping the INI into the EXE file)!

FreePlay allows you to autorun a CD whenever you wish. This handy little utility simply starts the autorun program on the CD as if you had just inserted the CD. This can be handy if you have auto-insert notification turned off on your machine. It can also be useful for normal users who find themselves ejecting CDs just to get the initial autorun menu to come up!

AUTOption and AUTOption Graphic have both been upgraded! You can now create INIs for installing viewers, in case the User does not have a program capable of viewing the document you tried to open. If the User does not have a viewer for a document you have tried to open, AUTOption can automatically load a new INI to offer installable viewers, information and options to the User. If the User does not have a program (e.g. a Web Browser) capable of viewing the document you are attempting to open on their machine (e.g. a HTML document), then AUTOption/ AUTOption Graphic will immediately take them to a nested menu (e.g. html.ini) from which they can install the program. You can do this for as many document types as you like! Please see help files for full information!

There was a minor bug in the new animated version of Autorun Action Flash. This bug, which caused the flash screen to load up and halt under some configurations, has been remedied and anyone with Autorun Action Flash version 3.0 who has experienced these problems are advised to download the new version (3.0.1).

You can now add a Title Bar, as well as have that text reflected in the Windows TaskBar! Title Bar Caption can be changed for each menu/ submenu, or if no text is entered, then no Title Bar will be displayed.

This is particularly handy if you feel strongly that you want text in the button in the TaskBar (in order for text to appear there the program must have a Title Bar)

With Autorun Action Flash you can now have ANIMATED flash screens! Simple to implement, and very flexible, you can animated your flash screen with as many frames as you wish. You can set the animation speed, which can cater for a range of animation effects, from highly graphical animations to simple screen swapping! You can even cycle the animation indefinitely for as long as the flash screen stays up!

You can now implement full sound schemes with AutoPage! With sound events for Start, Exit, Scroll Left, Scroll Right and Command execute! Each event is set by the presence of the relevant wave file. You need only include wave files for the events you wish to associate a sound for, and the wave files can easily be replaced with your own sounds. Full details can be found in the programs readme file.

With FastMenu you can now pass commandline arguments to any programs opened with your buttons!

With both FastMenu and Autorun Action Flash you can now specify the CD-Drive in any Commandline Arguments! With a new variable (%CD%) you can use in your Commandline arguments you can specify the drive your CD is in. This enhances the ability to include on your CD programs which can open/ view/ edit the documents on your CD!

For some software packages the registration package people were sent indicated they were authorised for personal use for any new versions of the package which came out. This was erroneous, as you are authorized for Purchased Use for any new version which come out.

This means that if you registered for Business Level, then you are authorized for Business Use for any new version which come out. If you registered for Personal Level, the you are authorized to use any new versions for Personal Use. Basically I'm not going to charge you an "upgrade" fee to get the new features.

I have changed the registration package to reflect this.

A User found an issue with FastMenu on their system when the program was run from the CD. The program could not find the title bitmap unless it was placed in the root directory. Not sure why this happened, but suspect certain versions of Windows caused it.

I have rewritten the image loadup, and it now works on these systems. If you were experiencing this sort of problem, please download an update!

There are New features for Both AUTOptions, AUTOption and AUTOption Graphic!

You can now place buttons horizontal as well as vertical! This means you can line the buttons up horizontally (e.g. along the bottom of your background), or vertically in a column (e.g. along the right side of your background).

There appeared to be issues with AUTOption and AUTOption Graphic when Large Screen Fonts were used. This was most obvious in AUTOption Graphic, where the buttons were moved slightly to the right and down when viewed on a computer with Large Screen Fonts set on.

I have reprogrammed the necessary modules, including those in the AUTOption Programmers. This has involved a change in the INI files, so existing INIs will have to be recreated. If you have an existing INI file set, you can open it up and change the two large numbers on lines 6 and 7 of AUTOption INI files or on lines 4 and 5 of AUTOption Graphic INI files to allow loadup. The numbers would typically be divided by 15 to correct them (assuming you did not have Large Screen Fonts set on your computer).

If anyone still has any issues with Large Screen Fonts, or any other matter, please do not hesitate in emailing me. Its this way we find problems which never occur in our experience.

Well, you can see what I have been doing for the past two weeks! As you have most probably noticed by now, the site has had a complete redesign! Could two sites be more different???

The site now pushes the limit of what is possible with HTML today. I'm not saying it uses oodles of Java, but rather that it should look good in the latest browsers (I have tested it in MS Internet Explorer 4.0 and Netscape Navigator 4.0 as well as Internet Explorer 3.0), while downloading in record time (as opposed to my old design which took a significant amount of time to download, and was not as well presented in Netscape).

I have not seen the methods I have used here used anywhere else, central to the design is the fragmentation of the component parts of the images. This allows both the flexibility of self adjusting images, but also faster download time. This means that the menu to the left has been compiled, on screen, out of many slivers of images, but comprising of only a few component parts, which are then meshed to appear as one image. I managed this by using the end caps and dividers as images, while the "middle" is a cell tile. This works vertically for the Menu and Title Boxes, and horizontally for the dividers and link boxes.

Due to the advances made in HTML, this site may look somewhat lacking in older browsers... in IE3 the site will look as it has been designed with the exception of the links which are all dark green (I can only specify global color for links in this version of HTML). You should upgrade. This site is best viewed in True Color (or High Color, if you must).

I've been busy this last weekend (okay and today, and yesterday) improving the options in AUTOption and AUTOption Graphic! Both have improved load-up, compatibility, more sound options and new ReadMe's. I have also programmed attractive sound event scheduling into the programs (such that for example if the program has a button click sound, and an exit sound, and the program is set to exit when a button is clicked then the program plays the button sound and executes the button, then plays the exit sound and exits, remaining on top until the procedure is completed. Trust me, it looks and sounds great.

AUTOption Graphic has one more sound event than AUTOption, Mouse-Over. It also has much improved load-up for Slow CD-ROM drives. The program will now load-up its graphics fully before showing itself at all (this has been implemented on AUTOption as well).

Payment Systems have been set up for the new software, and they are now for sale!

I have also made some minor changed to the AUTOption and AUTOption Graphic Executables. There were a reported instance of the background graphics having problems loading up on submenus. I have reprogrammed this module and it should work fine for everybody now.

In both programs I have changed the load-up order so that the initial load-up is smoother on slow machines with slow CD-ROM drives. I have also programmed it to now unload the buttons, load up the background graphic, then load-up the new buttons on menu swapping.

I have upgraded all the programs again! This round there are NO FUNCTIONAL CHANGES. Instead I have modified them for cosmetic and feedback improvements. These include:

All programs have a new path code "%", which indicates the file is in the same directory as the application. PLEASE NOTE: This is for cosmetic purposes only, and is not to be used for anything other than commands (i.e. logo images, INI files etc DO NOT use this). It has been introduced to allow us to set the software up to open its own files when you download them (regardless of where you unzip them).

NEW ICONS! I have given the programs a new set of icons. These are more attractive, as well as more indicative of the programs they represent. Originally my design intention was to give them all "generic" icons, which would be suitable for representing the CD, however this is probably not needed as it limits peoples understanding of what is possible, as well as the icons I can use for the programs.

Root Directory Messaging. I have received over the last week or so a number of emails from people who are trying to run the software from the Root Directory. As stated in the readme files this DOES NOT WORK. Now the program will message the User and ask that the program be moved from the Root directory.

TWO new programs released: AutoPage & FastMenu! These programs are not for sale at this point, as I set up ordering systems for them.

Autorun Action Flash has gotten its own INI file programmer! You can now setup the software using the supplied INI file generator, allowing you fast and simple implementation of the software.

Please Note that today I have upgraded ALL the programs with improvements that makes them more compatible with executing some older DOS programs and batch files! If you use the programs for these purposes you may wish to download the newer version for enhanced compatibility.

I have also made them compatible with Large Screen Fonts. If you were experiencing the form (and hence the background image) resizing too small then you can download a new copy to fix it up.

All Readme Files have been rewritten to make them clearer and more consistent with each other. You can read each of these from the respective software's pages below.
